The Administrative Console is available for Thinkwell Homeschool Middle and High School Math courses, making facilitating your student's classes easier.
Our Thinkwell Administrative Console is now live!
This exciting update means that from the Supervisory Account Console (i.e., the Parent or Instructor Account), you can now:
- View an Activity Report
- View your student's grades
- Reset tests!
This update applies to any course on our Canvas Platform — Standard and Honors Prealgebra (Grade 8 Math), Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and the Summer Edition Series.
You can view and print reports without logging into your student's account, but you can still "Go to Course" to view your student's submitted activity or log in to the student account directly if necessary.
To view a Student Activity Report, log in to your account and click "View Report" in the yellow "Activity" tab. The Activity Tab will also show the date and time of the last activity completed in the course:
The student's Activity Report will open. From there, you can print the report or follow your student's progress using the checklist and score indicators:
To view your student's grades or reset tests, click on "View Grades/Reset Tests" in the green "Grades" tab:
You may print the course Grade Report from this view and reset scores to make quizzes, tests, and exam retakes accessible to students. Exams can be reset as many times as necessary.
The option to reset tests is not accessible to students unless they have access to the Administrative Console. If you do not want your student to have access to the reset option, please ensure that the course is assigned to a unique username and password different from the Supervisory Account credentials.
Test resets are a permanent action and will remove the ability to retrieve the deleted take. Please save Grade Reports as a PDF frequently, and contact support@thinkwell.com so that we can help in case of an accidental reset.
A second important reason to create differentiated Student and Administrator roles is that you can now reset student passwords from the Account Dashboard.
If your student loses their password, click "Login As Student":
This will give your student access to their Account Dashboard and allow you to reset their password under the "Account" tab.
Click "Account" in the Dashboard navigation bar:
Then click "Change Password," which will allow you to reset your student's password:
As with previous versions of the Account Console, you can purchase monthly Extension and Office Hours live tutoring subscriptions. You will also have 14 days after starting the course to reassign it to different user credentials from the Console.
After 14 days, please get in touch with support@thinkwell.com for help reassigning a course.
Currently, the new Administrative Console supervisory tools are only available for courses housed on our Canvas platform, including Thinkwell's 6th and 7th Grade Math, Prealgebra (8th Grade Math), Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 courses, our Summer Edition Series, and the 30 Days to Algebra Readiness course.
You will still see and be able to access courses housed on our Legacy Platform from the Account Consoles, but reports are not available from the Console for those courses. Courses housed on the Legacy platform include Standard and Honors 6th, 7th, and 8 Grade Math Online courses, Standard and Honors Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 courses purchased before September 2021; Essential Skills Review courses; Science courses; Courses compatible with AP; and CLEP courses.
